A very busy 'sporting' week..June 19-26

My 'Dad' Steven arrived in England for a short visit and they all went out for an Indian meal - I'd like to try a nice Balti one day..

Once again, the week has flown by..a bit like that bird I tried to chase in the cornfield the other day!  It's been really warm too so we haven't been on any really long walks - the sun is changing the corn from green to golden..it will soon be harvest time and I'll be able to see where I'm going again!!

Mum watched all of the England vs. Slovenia match on Wednesday..we won!!! Next is Germany on Sunday - a bit worried about this one - come on England!!

Mum and Nan have also been watching Wimbledon on the telly..go Murray! The Queen was there on Thursday (we've seen an awful lot of H.M. since we arrived!!) Mum has a number of things on her 'bucket' list for next year..Chelsea Flower Show, Trooping the Colour, Royal Ascot (horse racing) and Wimbledon..

This week we also went out to lunch with my 'cousin' Claire at the White Horse - I got another treat at the bar from landlord, Chris!   On Friday, Mum had her 'new' car detailed..it looks very posh now!

That'll Be The Day

Mum went on a coach trip tonight with Auntie Sue to see a show called "That'll Be The Day" - it was at the New Theatre in Oxford..they had a good time, but missed the England vs. USA football match :-(  Oh well, she didn't miss much..it was a draw!

Summer in England..

We're making the most of the sun..it was even a bit too hot for me yesterday! My coat is growing back now, so Mum has to brush me every day..

Mum's into Wimbledon for the next fortnight - I hope she'll be able to get down there to see it live but she says tickets are very hard to get - you have to queue for ages apparently..

Bath time..

Time to get clean (I prefer to be a bit grubby though!) Getting into Barbara's bath isn't as easy as the one back 'home' .... worth it in the end though..don't I look lovely?!!

Happy Father's Day

A bit late..but here's wishing all the Dads out there a Happy Father's Day..especially mine!!

My first class cabin..

By the way, here are some photos of my 'first class cabin' on the plane coming over...bet I had more room than Mum did!!!

England...rubbish match

What a disappointing match...England had better win on Wednesday, otherwise there will be a LOT of grumpy Brits around here!!

Another long walk..

OK..so we must have walked miles and miles today, but we saw a lot of different things along the way - enjoy the photos... By the way, I never did climb over/through/under that horrible stile thing so we had to turn around and go back the same was as we came!!

Poorly...again!

OK..it must be that King's Sutton bog water that's upset my tummy - we went for a long long walk yesterday and I was really thirsty so I had a nice cool drink from the 'bog spring'

Mum's "new" car

Well we are finally mobile..thanks to Nan :-)   You're probably thinking, like me, what a strange looking little vehicle, but Mum likes it and it's quite comfy to ride in - I sit in the back of course with my harness on!

Not a lot going on...but

Not much going on but it is SUNNY and definitely not HOT Sacramento..thank goodness because my coat is growing quite fast and I don't want to be sweating all the time!  Nice breeze blowing and I'm told that it's a 'perfect hanging washing on the line day'..they seem to do a lot of that here.
We did go for a very very long country walk..I couldn't see much though as we went through lots of fields that had corn and broad beans growing - it was a bit like I would imagine walking through a jungle would be to a human! It was brilliant though and I could run ahead..I'm doing well without my lead now - I think Mum is proud of me :-) We met a nice lady called Sarah with her two dogs Holly and Charlie and I had a quick 'chat' and play..on the way back, we passed a small brook with some lovely fresh running water and I surprised Mum (and myself) by going down into it and splashing around a bit..only up to my knees though!!

Royal Ascot week (that's where those horsey animals I saw in a field a while back, go running around a track) and everyone there seems to be very dressed up, particularly the ladies - they wear these great big hats!  Anyway, Mum and I watched a bit of it on the telly and she picked the winner of the Ascot Stakes..however, she didn't put a bet on!!

Nan hasn't been feeling so good for the past few days and I've been trying hard to cheer her up..Mum got the 'new' car so we are going to try and take her out for a little ride - maybe that will make her feel better :-)

Miss you ALL

Mum told me there'd be days like this!

OK..so where did summer go?!  I thought Mum was kidding when she said that the sun doesn't shine every day - that's OK though because my coat is getting longer now and if we were back in Sacramento, California I would be roasting!  Oh well...I'll just have a good stretch and forty winks in front of the telly!!

I'm having a lot of fun here and I just went for a good run around the local park and came back to a yummy breakfast (tummy better now!)  We'll go and see Nan a bit later and make sure she eats properly and will most likely go for another walk.  Mum gets her 'new' car later today (and I'm sure you know how much I looooooove riding in a car...NOT!) Oh well, at least we won't have to keep asking for lifts everywhere and we can take Nan out for a little ride now and then :-)

Come on England

Everyone here is talking about the World Cup and today is a big day because tonight we play the USA..come on England! I don't really know what football is but from what I can gather, a bunch of blokes run around a field kicking a ball into a big net..but I'm looking forward to my first World Cup match..
